Show name search permissions message

When you search for a name that has legal name information associated with it and you don’t have permissions to view legal name information, a notification message appears. The message includes a Do not show this message again option. Example    

You can choose to display the message again by selecting the Show name search permission message checkbox on the User Preferences window.

 
Show hold type permissions message
 
When you open the Manage Data Privacy Requests window but don’t have permissions to view the Data Privacy hold types, a notification message appears. The message includes a Do not show this message again option. Example

You can choose to display the message again by selecting the Show hold type permission message checkbox on the User Preferences window.

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    The value in the User Preferences for column is not editable.

3.    In the Use selected search and display function in drop-downs column, click the down arrow and select one of two valid values:

a.    Search by Code and Display Code and Description

b.    Search by Description and Display Description

4.    Save.

3.    Choose the Yes or No radio button for the Open drop-downs automatically as typing begins column.

4.    Save.

3.    In the Display addresses based on selected Address Priority Code column, click the down arrow and select the appropriate value.

4.    Save.

 

The Reset All Windows to Default Size and Position button is only available if the Save changes to the size and position of all windows checkbox is selected.

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    The value in the User Preferences for column is not editable.

3.    In the Save changes to the size and position of all windows column, select the checkbox to save the changes in the last opened window. You can reset all windows to the default size and position by clicking the Reset All Windows to Default Size and Position button.

4.    Save.

 

If you are not configured to receive notifications or if a J1 Desktop administrator has disabled a notification, this preference is ignored. Also, you can only receive notifications if you are explicitly assigned to a notification group. In other words, this preference will not allow you to subscribe to a notification or override any higher-level settings.

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    The value in the User Preferences for column is not editable.

3.    In the Notify me by drop-down column, select one of the three notification methods:

a.    Application Alert

b.    E-mail (Officially records on Name Master)

c.     Application Alert and E-mail

4.    If either the Application Alert or Application Alert and E-mail option is selected, the Pop up new application alert notification(s) as I get them checkbox displays. If you select this checkbox:

a.    In the Number of popups to be stacked simultaneously column, enter the number to stack if multiple alerts come in at one time.

b.    In the Hold the pop-up for this many seconds before fade column, enter the number of seconds you prefer to elapse between the appearance and fading out of the notification alert.

5.    Save.

 

Consult with your Module Manager.

 

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    The value in the User Preferences for column is not editable.

3.    In the Default My Workspace Tab column, choose one of the following options:

a.    Home

b.    Custom Content

c.     MyJenzabar.Net

d.    Getting Started

4.    If you select Getting Started, select the Make Getting Started Tab Available Upon Startup checkbox.

5.    Save.

 

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    The value in the User Preferences for column is not editable.

3.    If Getting Started is selected in the Default My Workspace Tab column, the Make Getting Started Tab Available Upon Startup checkbox is selected by default.

4.    Otherwise, select this checkbox is you want the Getting Started tab available when you start J1 Desktop.

5.    Save.

1.    Open the User Preferences window.

2.    Locate the Date/Time Preferences group box.

3.    Click the Change How J1 Displays Date/Time link.

4.    The Customize the Date and Time Format window appears.

5.    The Current Format is displayed at the bottom of the window.

6.    Read the text carefully, and click the for information for information about J1-approved date and time formats.

7.    Click the Open Regional Settings button, which opens the Region and Language window.

8.    Select a J1-approved format.

You cannot log into J1 Desktop until a J1-approved format has been selected from the Region and Language window.

9.    Click OK.

10.  The Region and Language window closes and the time and date are displayed in the newly selected formats at the bottom of the Customize the Date and Time Format window.

2.         Set up your name search message preferences:

• To see a notification when you search for a name and there are legal names associated with it that you do not have permission to see, select the Show name search permissions message checkbox.

• To disable the notification that appears when you search for a name and there are legal names associated with it that you do not have permission to see, deselect the Show name search permissions message checkbox.   

3.         Set up your data privacy hold type permissions message:

• To see a notification when you open the Data Privacy Requests window and there are data privacy holds associated with it that you do not have permission to see, select the Show hold type permissions message checkbox.

• To disable the notification that appears when you open the Data Privacy Requests window and there are data privacy  holds associated with it that you do not have permission to see, deselect the Show hold type permissions message checkbox.  

4.         Save.
