The census percentage is used to calculate the last date to drop a course (Census Date) based on the beginning and ending date range. Any time before this percentage, the course will be dropped (it will not appear on the Student Course History table). Any time after this percentage, the course will be considered a withdrawal (it will be assigned a grade and remain on the Student Course History table).
Census percentage appears as "Census %" in column headings in the Year/Term and Year/Term/Subterm tabs of the Year Term Subterm window.
This feature is user-driven based upon information provided in the configuration process.

Unless you have one fixed census date for all courses within a given year and term, we recommend that you define the census date using a census percentage. Using a percentage allows the system to calculate a census date when the start date or end date of a course differs from the start date or end date of the year/term or the year/term/subterm. |
