Student Course History Table

The Student Course History contains one row for every course a student takes and must have Advising Requirement Codes in order for Advising to function properly. You can think of the Student Course History table as the merging of student information and course section information. The student information provides the identification of the student who is taking the course. The course section information contains the course section in which the student enrolls. The table stores each students courses on a year and term basis. Each student may take up to 99 courses in a year and term.

The Student Course History table provides information for any process that deals with individual student courses. These processes include:

·       Enrollment Reports

·       Grade Tracking

·       Grade Reporting

·       Transcripts

This list is certainly not exhaustive. Many functions in both Registration and Advising rely on the Student Course History table for student course information. Therefore, it would be accurate to say that the Student Course History table is the place to look when you need any information about individual student courses.

The Student Course History table contains rows for pre-registered student courses, current student courses, and graded student courses. These different types of student courses are separated by a code called transaction status.

Enrolled courses are those Student Course History table rows with a transaction status of P (Pre-registrations), C (Current), or H (History). Waitlisted courses (W) and Dropped courses (D) are not included in the enrolled hours count.
