1.    Access the Manage Report Line Items window.

2.    Select the Create Line Item option.

3.    To use an existing report line item to create your report new line item:

a.    Select the Base new report line item on existing report line item checkbox.

b.    Select the report line item upon which you are basing your new report line item from the Existing Report Line Item drop-down list. You can filter the report line items in this drop-down list by choosing a report type from the Filter by Report Type drop-down list and/or a report line item type from the Filter by Report Line Item Type drop-down list.

The selected report line item's accounts display in the right pane, and the New Report Line Item Code column is automatically populated.

The Existing Report Line Item column displays the selected report line item's code and name.

4.    Select and enter your new report line item's type, name, and code.

Your new report line item's code and name must be different than any existing report line item's code and name.

5.    Select and move appropriate accounts from the Available Accounts pane to the Report Line Item Accounts pane and vice versa. The accounts listed in the Report Line Item Accounts pane will make up your new report line item.

Use the yellow search row to filter accounts by specific components. Enter an underscore for each number that won't influence your search, a dash to separate components, and the numbers for the component you want to filter by. For example, if your school has the following account structure: Component 1 = Fund (1 character) Component 2 = Department (4 characters) Component 3 = Object (4 characters) Component 4 = Sub object (1 character) To see accounts in the environmental engineering concentration (1250), enter _-____-1250-_ in the Account Code column. Enter or right-click and select Filter as like to narrow down your search. Example

6.    Click Save to finish creating your new report line item.

1.    Access the Manage Report Line Items window.

2.    Select the Modify Line Item option and the Modify by Line Item view.

The available drop-down lists change based on your modify by selection.

3.    Select the report line item you wish to modify from the Report Line Item drop-down list. You can filter the line items in this drop-down list by choosing a report type from the Filter by Report Type drop-down list and/or a line item type from the Filter by Report Line Item Type drop-down list.

The following display:

o     Available Accounts - accounts that can be added to the selected report line item

o     Report Line Items Accounts - accounts in the selected report line item

o     List of reports that contain the report line item and will be affected by its modification

4.    To add accounts, select and move them from the Available Accounts pane to the Report Line Items Accounts pane using the right arrow button.

5.    To remove accounts, select and move them from the Report Line Items Accounts pane to the Available Accounts pane using the left arrow button.

6.    Click Save to save changes to the report line item.

1.    Access the Manage Report Line Items window.

2.    Select the Modify Line Item option and the Modify by Account view.

The available drop-down lists change based on your modify by selection.

3.    Select the account you wish to associate with report line item(s) from the Account drop-down list. You can filter the accounts in this drop-down list by choosing an account type from the Filter by Account Type drop-down list.

The following display:

o     Available Report Line Items - report line items to which you can add the selected account

o     Account Report Line Items - report line items that contain the selected account

o     List of reports that will be affected by the modification and the report line items from those reports that contain the selected account

If more than two report line items containing the account appear in a report, "..." displays after the first two listed and the report line items are a hyperlink. You can click the hyperlink to view all of the report line items.

4.    To add the account to report line items, select and move the report line items from the Available Report Line Items pane to the Account Report Line Items pane using the right arrow button.

5.    To remove the account from report line items, select and move the report line items from the Account Report Line Items pane to the Available Report Line Items pane using the left arrow button.

6.    Click Save to save changes.

When you delete a line item, it is deleted entirely from J1 Desktop.

Jenzabar delivered report line items cannot be deleted, so they are not displayed in the Report Line Item drop-down list.

1.    Access the Manage Report Line Items window.

2.    Select the Delete Line Item option.

3.    Select the report line item you wish to delete from the Report Line Item drop-down list. You can filter the line items in this drop-down list by choosing a report type from the Filter by Report Type drop-down list and/or a report line item type from the Filter by Report Line Item Type drop-down list.

The following display:

o     Selected report line item's accounts

o     List of reports that contain the report line item

If the report line item appears in any reports, it cannot be deleted.

4.    To remove the report line item from reports, go to the Financial Reporting window and follow steps under "Delete a Report Line Item from a Report" in the help topic. Start again at Step 1 after removing the report line items.

5.    Click Save to delete the report line item.
