If the Submission Type is Personal Info Update (520) or Student Request (530), this tab may be displayed even if no data is submitted for the STUDENT_MASTER mapping table. If available, this tab contains the same information as the Student tab on the Student Information window in the Registration module and is used to review submission data that needs to be saved to the STUDENT_MASTER table in the J1 database.
If there are differences between the J1 database
and submission information, a sunburst icon (
) is
displayed next to the "Student" tab label. These sunburst icons
are also displayed to the left of each column on the tab where there is
a difference between the J1 database and the submission information. When
these differences exist, the Compare Data button is also available.
If you make a manual change on this tab for a particular column that has been included on the submission and the changed value is different from the database value, the sunburst icon displays for the column and it is included as a "changed" column on the Compare Data window since the value differs from the value in the J1 database. If the manual change is the same as the J1 database value or the modified column was not included on the submission, it is not considered a "changed" column and no sunburst icon is displayed.
If there are user-defined columns that have been submitted and are not blank, the sunburst icon will display on the User button and the following message will be displayed at the top of the Student tab: "Please be sure to click the User button to view the submitted values for the user defined columns."
When you save data on the Student tab for a row that does not exist in the STUDENT_MASTER, STUDENT_DIV_MAST, and DEGREE_HISTORY tables, a row is created in the STUDENT_MASTER table and in the STUDENT_DIV_MASTER for the Current Student Division. A DEGREE_HISTORY row is also created for that same division and is flagged as the Current Degree. When you save data for an existing row, the changed data is saved to the STUDENT_MASTER table. If a different Current Student Division is saved, a new row is created in both the STUDENT_DIV_MASTER and DEGREE_HISTORY tables. The new DEGREE_HISTORY row is flagged as the Current Degree.
