Error Log Tab (IU)

The Errors menu is available only when you select the Error Log tab and provides you with the following options:

·       The Save Log option allows you to save the Errors Log to a file for use at a later time.

·       The Clear Log option allows you to clear or erase the data on the Errors Log from the IU_ERROR_LOG table.

·       The Print Log option allows you to print the data shown on the Errors Log.

If errors exist for a temporary ID Number, the information for the Temp ID Number will not be imported. Errors must be corrected, or the Temp ID Number with the error will be ignored by the Import Utility during upload procedures. The Errors Log tab is automatically populated from two options: Check Database and Upload Data.  

In addition to inserting/updating the data, several processes are run during the processing of the Import Utility data. If any of these processes fail for a Temporary ID Number (TEMP_ID), the following J1 Desktop errors are displayed on the Error Log tab:

Description

Error Inserting/Updating Candidate table

Occurs if test score data is supplied but a CANDIDATE row cannot be created

Occurs if candidacy data is supplied but a CANDIDATE row cannot be created or an existing CANDIDATE row cannot be updated with the current CANDIDACY information

Error setting current candidacy

Occurs if there is an error upon setting the imported CANDIDACY row so CUR_CANDIDACY = 'Y' and setting any other existing CANDIDACY rows such that CUR_CANDIDACY = 'N'

Error inserting stage history

Occurs if there is an error creating a new Stage History row for imported CANDIDACY information containing a new stage value

Error inserting action list

Occurs if there is an error while an action list for an imported stage is being added to the ID Number's Notepad

Error inserting requirement list

Occurs if there is an error while a requirement list for an imported stage is being added to the ID Number's Notepad

Error creating JICS account

Occurs if there is a problem while creating a new JICS ID and/or putting a JICS ID into the CANDIDATE role if required by an imported stage value

Error setting counselor initials

Occurs if the CANDIDATE table cannot be updated with a generated counselor ID

Error Log Example

The ZIP Code, Current Address, and Middle Name columns in the Upload Criteria tab were selected as Required. The process of checking the information from the outside source revealed that temporary ID Number 1 did not have a ZIP Code, current address, or middle name.  

The Error Log tab showed the following information:
