Form Detail Configurations
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
Form details are configurations that apply to your entire form. They control who can access forms as builders and submitters, where form submissions are stored in document storage, and let you provide a detailed description form completers can review for context about the form.
Form Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Name | Uniquely identifies the form. |
Code | A unique code that is auto-generated for you or you can choose to enter your own. Codes cannot be more than 15 characters. |
Description | This text appears on the Forms block when a user hovers over the information icon. NoteIn Campus Portal Forms, the Description appears underneath the form's name to provide an introduction. You can use the Textbox field in J1 Web to do the same thing. |
Owner Access Code | Identifies which department created the form. For example, common for campus-wide forms, alumni for donation forms, and HCM for human resources forms, etc. This setting doesn’t control access. |
Modules Allowed Access to Submit | Module access codes you want to be able to complete and submit the form. Users in roles with permission to this module code will be able to complete and submit the form. Common access codes mean the form will be available to everyone. |
Modules Allowed Access to Review | Users in roles with permission to this module code will be able to review form submissions. |
Tab orientation | Controls the position and arrangement of the tabs on the form.
|
Document Storage Category and Document Type | Determines how a form submission PDF will be categorized in Document Storage. How the PDF is categorized determines where it will be stored and who can access it. Note: Form submissions are associated with the form submitter. |
To work with form details, you must belong to a Forms role with the "Can edit forms" permission enabled.
You can only update those forms you have permission to access. Form access is controlled by the Form Details configurations.
