The Connect to Google Maps icon
() is displayed next to an address in the J1 Desktop
system and allows you to automatically connect to the Internet to locate
that address or to get directions to that address. If you want to get
driving directions, you must enter the From
address.
The Connect to Google Maps icon
() is also used for vendors' addresses in Purchase
Requisitions and Purchase Orders. You may find this option useful if you
are picking up the goods yourself or need to give directions to another
person who will be picking up the goods. You may also want to use this
feature to determine the transportation cost and environmental impact
of ordering goods from this vendor at this location.
When you click the Connect to Google Maps icon beside a vendor address, an Internet browser opens Google Maps using that address as the To address. The From address is dependent upon whether you configured a From address.
