This date indicates when a student's enrollment status changed.
A student at Teams University dropped two classes during a term, causing their status to change from full-time to half-time. In this case, the Status Start Date is the date they dropped the second class because that is the action that caused the half-time status. |
The information in the Status and Status Start Date columns determines the information that will be included in the next NSC report, regardless of any conflicting information elsewhere in Registration. For instance, you can manually mark a student as Withdrawn even though your other records show him or her enrolled for courses. To do this, select Withdrawn from the Status drop-down list and enter a Status Start Date that is more recent than the date of the last report sent to the NSC.
Report a start date for the following statuses:

Status dates reported must fall within the range of the term begin and end dates. If a status date is earlier than the Term Begin Date, it is changed to the Term Begin Date; if the status date is later than the Term End date, it is changed to the Term End Date. J1 makes this adjustment for you if it finds a date outside the proper range. J1 also determines whether or not to report a status date for each student using the following NSC rules:
· Status dates must never be reported for summer terms. Select the Non-standard Term checkbox in the Term Definition window for your summer terms, and J1 will manage this.
· Status dates must always be reported for statuses of G (Graduated), W (Withdrawn), D (Deceased), and A (Approved leave of absence). These are the statuses and dates recorded on the student data file. Make sure you fill in a status date for any students with these statuses when you edit the student data file.
· Status dates must never be reported for a status of F (Full time). The program will never report a date for full time students.
· For statuses of H (Half-time or more) and L (Less than half-time), report as follows:
o In the first report for a term, the date must not be reported. J1 will determine whether this is the first report for a term by comparing the term begin and end dates for the term being processed with the dates on the history record.
o In subsequent reports for the same term, the date should be reported only if the student's enrollment has decreased in status since the last report. J1 will compare the current status to the student's status on the Transmittal History table to determine whether or not to report the date.
