IPEDS Reports

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports are provided to the U.S. Department of Education from all primary providers of post-secondary education. It is the core post-secondary education data collection program within the U.S. Department of Education, and it is sponsored by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The surveys collect organization-level data in such areas as enrollment, program completion, faculty, staff, finances, and academic libraries. (Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System, Guide to Surveys. Used with permission.)

·       Part K -- Fall Staff -- Total Number of Staff by Employment Status, Gender and Race/Ethnicity

·       Part L -- Fall Staff -- New Hires of Full-time Staff by Tenure Status, Primary Function/Occupational Activity, Gender and Race/Ethnicity

EEOC reports use the following information:

·       EEOC Code defined in the Organizational Job Definitions table is connected to the employee's position

·       IPEDS Function/Occupational Activity defined in the Organizational Job Definitions table is connected to the employee's position

·       IPEDS Staff Type defined in the Organizational Job Definitions table is connected to the employee's position

·       Gender defined in the Biograph Master table

·       Ethnic Group defined in the Biograph Master table mapped to the Alternate 1 Value for ethnic group definitions

·       On Tenure Track? defined in the Employee Master table

·       Tenure Date defined in the Employee Master table

·       Original Hire Date defined in the Employee Master table

·       Position Status defined in the Individual Position History table

·       Position Begin Date and End Date defined in the Individual Position History table to determine the length of their contract where contract length is needed

·       Earnings defined in the Individual Salary History table connected to their primary position to calculate salary amounts

To ensure the IPEDS reports are accurate, employee information must be kept up-to-date.
