Do NOT create a column in the UDF table that has the same name as an existing udef column in its parent table.

Use this window to view the available and active tables and columns available for mapping in a campus portal (JICS) submission and to define select column properties. If you are using Form Builder 2.0 to create a type of internet submission, the database mapping table and column must exist on this window and must be associated with a submission type in order to be used for mapping questions on the form back to the J1 database.
You can add and delete custom tables and assign custom tables to submission types.
Custom tables and columns can be used by the campus portal (JICS) Form Builder designer to map questions and answers back to the J1 database.
If a database mapping table or column is not displayed on this window, it cannot be used for mapping when creating a form using Form Builder.
When you close the window and save changes, the MAPPING_COLUMN table is updated for each row where the Is Available to Pre-populate and Allow Blank to Override DB column values were changed.
Most of the mapping tables represent "physical" database tables (see list). However, some of the mapping tables are "logical" database tables (see list).

The Test Scores mapping table actually consists of columns from the TEST_SCORES and TEST_SCORES_DETAILS tables. When an online submission that contains the Test Score mapping columns is received by J1 Desktop, the window that processes the submission knows there is special processing that needs to occur for this "logical" Test Scores table to be able to separate the data into the appropriate columns on the window. |
