Subsidiary Types and Statement Messages

Many of the statement formats allow you to print a message at the bottom of the statement. Like the address, each subsidiary type has its own message. Therefore, you can create a different message for each group of people.

For example, you can create a different message for current students (Subsidiary Type = CS) and for faculty (Subsidiary Type = FA).

Up to four statement messages can be defined for each subsidiary type by using the Update A/R subsidiary type control function, and the messages can be changed at any time.

·       The debit balance message appears if the person's statement balance is a debit (greater than zero).

·       The credit balance message appears if the person's statement balance is a credit (less than zero).

·       The zero balance message appears if the person's statement balance is zero.

·       The default message appears if the debit, credit, and zero messages are all blank. You can use the default message if you want to print the same message for all statements, regardless of the person's balance.
