Automatic Acceptance

If you choose to use Automatic Acceptance, requirements lists will be necessary to ensure that all required information is added to the database and minimums are established in order for Automatic Acceptance to work properly.

Automatic Acceptance is a computer-generated decision that is based on program, location, division, and department codes. When a candidate has returned and completed all requirements and if all of those requirements meet the pre-established minimums, the system will automatically accept the candidate for admission unless the program is full. If the program is full, the candidate can be wait listed.

·       When Automatic Acceptance is turned on and the stages have been configured properly, the system will process a candidacy and move it into a pending stage when all the requirements have been received and are complete. The system then checks to see if specified minimums have been met. If so, the candidacy is moved into an accept stage; if not, the candidacy can remain in a pending stage or moved to a reject stage.

·       When Automatic Acceptance is turned off, the system will still process a candidacy when all the requirements have been received and are complete. However, it will move the candidacy into a pending stage but does not check to see if specified minimums have been met. The candidacy must be manually moved to an accept or reject stage.
