Reports and transcripts typically show the current term GPA and the career GPA. But some schools need several calculations of GPA beyond the current term and career. Particularly for tracking progress toward graduation, to assist in retention efforts, and for reporting, several simultaneous GPA calculations may be helpful. Treatment of repeat and forgiven courses can be important variables in the various GPAs.
In addition to the current-term and the career GPAs, you can add two alternative GPAs. For the career GPA and the two alternatives, you set a number of parameters on various windows. For example, you name the GPAs, choose how and where they appear on transcripts, and set the number of decimal places on the Registration Configuration window. You determine how forgiven and repeated courses factor in each GPA on the Forgiven Course Recalc Definition window and the Credit Type Definition window.
The new Repeat/Transcript/GPA tab on the Registration Configuration window lets you create the two alternative GPAs and set parameters for GPAs, transcripts, and repeat courses.
