Troubleshooting The Complete Matches Report

The Complete Matches Report details records in PowerFAIDS with an existing alternate ID that either no longer exist in the J1 Name Master table or do exist but their PowerFAIDS Social Security Number (SSN) does not match the SSN for this ID in the J1 Biograph Master table. It is highly recommended that these records be corrected.

Jenzabar recommends the following troubleshooting steps:

1.    Confirm that the SSN In PowerFAIDS is accurate.

a.    If it is, continue to #2.

b.    If it is not, take the corrective steps PowerFAIDS recommends. Delete the Alternate ID and run Match Records to effect a good record match to J1.

2.    Look up the SSN using Financial Aid Inquiry.

a.    If it is not found, then this SSN no longer exists in J1. You will need to continue to #3.

b.    If found, confirm that this is indeed the same person by comparing address, birth date, phone number, and other biographical data.

i.      If it is not the same person, continue to #3.

ii.    If it is the same person, manually update the PowerFAIDS alternate ID with the correct J1 ID_NUM.

3.    Look up the ID for the records where SSN is not found in Financial Aid Inquiry and in the PowerFAIDS Student Module. Financial Aid Inquiry uses a SSN link to display PowerFAIDS data detail.

a.    If found, confirm that this is indeed the same person by comparing address, phone number, date of birth, and other biographical data.

i.      If it is not the same person, continue to #4.

ii.    If it is the same person, delete the Alternate ID in PowerFAIDS and run Match Records. An exact SSN match will not be made. Review the Potential J1 Matches to find the matching record, and update their SSN and proceed to complete the match.

4.    Look up the record by name using Advanced Search in Financial Aid Inquiry and in the PowerFAIDS Student Module.

a.    If found, confirm that this is indeed the same person by comparing address, phone, date of birth, and any biographical data.

i.      If it is not the same person, delete the Alternate ID in PowerFAIDS.

ii.    If it is the same person, delete the Alternate ID in PowerFAIDS and run Match Records. An exact SSN match will not be made. Review the Potential J1 Matches to find the matching record, and update their SSN and proceed to complete the match.
