Configure Flattened Attributes Table Window

This window is used to define the columns on the Configure Flattened Attributes table, which can be used for quick and easy reporting of all of a donor's attributes or for using it as a selection for a mail merge, etc.

If you want to do a mailing to all Rotary Members who are donors to your organization, this table would be the easiest place to find that information.

To configure it, you designate the kind of attributes that will be included in an attribute type, which can indicate memberships, interests, or other classifications of attributes a donor might have. Within the attribute types, donor attributes will be stored in one of up to 25 "columns." Each column of information consists of the attribute, its begin and end dates, and the count or number of that attribute per donor.

You may want to have three attribute types: Memberships, Interests, and Committees. Within Memberships, you could store Rotary attribute in column 1, NSFRE in column 2, Audubon Society in column 3, etc. In the Interests attribute type you could have Flying in column 1, Birding in column 2, Fishing in column 3, etc. In the Committee attribute type you could have Academic in column 1, Funding in column 2, and Master Plan in column 3. This configuration would look like the following on the Flat Attributes Configuration table:

Attribute Type:  Memberships

Once the table is configured, it can be recalculated, which is particularly useful for populating the table if you add a new attribute to the configuration.

This window also allows you to define how attributes for donors are stored in the Flat Attributes table.

Rows are used to define Attribute Types or what kinds of attributes will be stored as rows in the table. Columns are used to associate Attributes with the Column number. You can assign up to 25 attribute columns in each Attribute Type.

In the following example, you can assign the following Attributes for the three Attribute Types:

Attribute Type

Column 1

Column 2

Column 3
