Remarks (SEVIS)

You can enter up to 500 alphanumeric characters in this text column.

The + button opens the View Remarks window so that the entire text can be viewed. When you enter text in the View Remarks window and click OK, the text is inserted into the Remarks column but it is not saved to the database until you manually Save.

General Tab (International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       If you selected the Criminal Conviction checkbox, enter in the Explanation column any remarks about disciplinary action taken in relation to the conviction.

·       If you entered a port of entry in the Port of Entry column, enter in the Remarks column any information related to the port of entry.

Dependents Tab (International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Dependent Remarks column, enter any desired general remarks about the dependent.

·       If a dependents status is ending, enter a reason in the End Status Reason column.

·       In the End Status Remarks column, enter an explanation of the reason the dependents status is being ended.

·       If a dependents status is terminated, enter in the Terminate Reason Remarks column an explanation of the reason the dependents status is being terminated.

·       If you selected the Reactivate Dependent checkbox, enter in the Reactivate Dependent Remarks an explanation of the reason the dependents status is being reactivated.

Program Subtab (Student Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the General Remarks column, enter any general remarks about the student.

·       In the Transferred From column, enter the name of the school from which the student is transferring. This column is required if the Issue Reason is T (Transfer).

·       In the Other Remarks column, enter text about the reason. This column is required if the Issue Reason is O (Other).

·       In the Education Level Remarks column, enter remarks related to the student's education level.

·       In the English Not Reason column, enter an explanation if English proficiency is not required at your school.

·       In the Edit Program Remarks column, enter appropriate remarks about any program that has been changed.

Status Subtab (Student Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Drop Below Remarks column, enter text related to authorization for the student to drop below full-time status or to take less than a full-time course load.

·       In the Resume FT Remarks column, enter any comments about the resuming of full-time status by the student.

·       In the Completed Program Remarks column, enter any comments related to the student's completion of the program.

·       In the Extend Program Remarks column, enter any comments related to extending the student's program end date.

·       In the Defer Attendance Remarks column, enter any comments related to deferring the student's attendance at your school.

·       In the Student Terminated Remarks column, enter any comments related to the student's termination at your school.

Financial Subtab (Student Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Description of Other column, enter an explanation of other expenses for which the student must pay.

·       In the School Funding Remarks column, enter an explanation of sources of funding being provided by your school.

·       In the Other Funding Remarks column, enter a description of the source(s) of other funds provided.

·       In the Employment Funds (Funding) Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the funding of expenses by the student's employment.

·       In the Recommendation column, enter any comments about the student's off-campus employment.

CPT/OPT Subtab (Student Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Course Relevance column, enter an explanation for the relevance of CPT employment to the student's course work.

·       In the Remarks column, enter any comments concerning the CPT employment information.

Program 1 Subtab (Exchange Visitor Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Program Remarks column, enter additional remarks about the exchange visitor's subject/field.

·       In the Update Remarks column, enter any remarks about the update of the exchange visitor's subject/field.

·       In the Amend Program Remarks column, enter remarks related to the exchange visitor's program amendment.

·       In the Extend Program Remarks column, enter remarks related to the exchange visitor's program extension.

Program 2 Subtab (Exchange Visitor Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Correct Minor or Technical Infraction Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the request to correct minor or technical infractions.

·       In the Terminate Program Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the program termination request.

·       In the End Program Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the program end request.

Financial Subtab (Exchange Visitor Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Financial Support Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the financial support of the exchange visitor.

Site of Activity Subtab (Exchange Visitor Tab on International Student and Exchange Visitors Window)

·       In the Add Site Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the site of activity being added for the exchange visitor.

·       In the Delete Site Remarks column, enter any remarks related to the site of activity being deleted for the exchange visitor.
