SEVIS requires the use of FIPS country codes; therefore, this drop-down data window displays the FIPS postal country codes.
The ISO country codes used on the regular Addresses tab are mapped to the FIPS country codes in the Alt/Value column. If an ISO country code is mapped to more than one FIPS country code, you must select the correct FIPS country code in the International Students and Exchange Visitors window.
Country codes are defined and maintained via the Maintain Table Values window and stored in the Table Details table. Choose Column Name of country.
Once these codes are defined, you can select the country where this person was born from the drop-down list.
