When saving a row on the Ethnic/Race subtab, the age of the individual determines whether data can be self-reported or observed. The age is calculated using Birth Date in the Biograph Master table (BIOGRAPH_MASER.BIRTH_DTE).
· If the Report Type is Observed and the individual is over the age of 18, the following message displays: "This individual is over 18 years old. Only self-reporting should be used. Do you wish to continue?"
o If you click Yes, the record is saved.
o If you click No, the cursor returns to the Report Type column for editing.
· If the Report Type is Observed and the individual is 18 years old or under, the following message displays: "This individual is 18 years old or under. Observed should be used as a last resort at the elementary and secondary school level. Do you wish to continue?"
o If you click Yes, the record is saved.
o If you click No, the cursor returns to the Report Type column for editing.
