Maintain Definitions Window

Use this window to add, update, and delete definitions. When a definition is active, it is available from the drop-down options on the parent window.

In order to add, update, and delete definitions, you must have the appropriate permissions. For more information, contact your Module Manager or IT Department.

Columns

The name or title for the definition.

Description of the definition. This description appears in the drop-down option list.

· · If the checkbox is selected, the definition is available for use.

· · If the checkbox is not selected, the definition is not available for use.

How To

1. Open the Maintain Definitions window.

2. Right-click and choose Add Row. A new row appears.

3. In the Name column, enter the name or title for the definition.

4. In the Description column, enter a description of the definition. This description appears in the drop-down option list.

5. To make the added definition available, select the Active checkbox.

6. Click the Save button.

7. Click the X button. The Maintain Definitions window closes.

2. Select the definition to be updated.

3. Update the Name, Description, and/or Active options as needed.

4. Click the Save button.

5. Click the X button. The Maintain Definitions window closes.

1. Open the Maintain Definitions window.

2. Select the definition to be activated.

3. Select the Active checkbox.

4. Click the Save button. The definition is now available in the drop-down options.

5. Click the X button. The Maintain Definitions window closes.

1. Open the Maintain Definitions window.

2. Select the definition to be deactivated.

3. Clear the Active checkbox.

4. Click the Save button. The definition is no longer available in the drop-down options.

5. Click the X button. The Maintain Definitions window closes.

1. Open the Maintain Definitions window.

2. Select the definition to be deleted.

3. Right-click and choose Delete Row. The definition is deleted.

4. Click the X button. The Maintain Definitions window closes.

A definition cannot be deleted if it is assigned to an associated parent table. In this instance it is recommended that the definition be deactivated.

1. Open the Group Definition window.

2. Select the user group you are limiting access to the Maintain Definitions window.

3. Click the Permissions button. The Group Membership window appears.

4. Click the Functions tab.

a. From the Allowed panel, locate Module "CM," Description "Maintain Definitions."

b. To allow the user group to view the information, but deny them the ability to make updates, select the View Only checkbox.

c. To deny the user group total access to the window, click the Remove Arrow button.

5. Click the Save button.
