Classification Update Window

You can run one Classification rule for one student, for all the students registered in the selected year and term, or for all registered student for all years and terms beginning with the selected ID Number. If you want to run multiple rules at one time, click the Rules Based Update button (if available) to open the Rules Based Update window and initiate the process from that window.

Columns

You can update a single ID Number or you can update multiple ID Numbers by selecting or not selecting a Year and/or Term and by selecting or not selecting the Start From This ID and/or Update Student Master checkboxes.

If you select this checkbox, the update uses the ID Number entered as the starting point and will process the update from that number forward.

If 100200 is entered in the ID Number column and the Start From This ID checkbox is selected, the academic standing for all ID Numbers from 100200 and higher will be processed. If no ID Number is entered, the Academic Update will be performed for all records in the selected Year and Term.

How To

Ensure that all grades are entered and updated for the selected year and term before running this update.

1. Open the Classification Update window.

2. Read the guidance at the top of the window.

3. Select Update Type and Code, Year, and Term.

4. Enter an ID # if appropriate.

5. Select the Start From This ID checkbox if appropriate.

6. Deselect the Update Student Division Master and Update Student Master checkboxes if appropriate.

7. Click OK.

8. If you want to run multiple rules at one time, click the Rules Based Update button (if available) to open the Rules Based Update window and initiate the process from that window.

		Update Student Division Master and Update Student Master are selected by default. Deselect them when you don't want to update those tables.
		If a current student is a senior and you would like to update a previous term without affecting the current term, you would choose not to update the Student Master and Student Division Master (current) tables. The classification code will then be updated only on the Student Term Summary by Division (history) record.
