Process Definition Window

This window has two tabs, Processes and Notification Groups, which maintain definitions of processes that are eligible for scheduling, attributes for each of the processes, and notification groups associated to the process. This window is populated through default data, and you cannot add new rows.

No columns can be updated in the DB_BLACKOUT_PROCESS row. DB_BLACKOUT_PROCESS rows are pre-defined processes at which times the database is not available and no scheduled processes are executed. The Database Administrator can determine the DB Blackout times (for backups, server work, etc.).

Processes Tab

The default data on the Processes tab are saved to the Process Definition table. The following columns are on this tab:

Process Name (display only)

Description

Max. Occurrences Allowed in History Log

Estimated Run Time (Minutes)

Skip Threshold Time (Minutes)

Process E-mail Address

Notification Groups Tab

The Notification Groups tab is used to define the Notification Groups associated with the Process selected (highlighted) on the Processes tab. The header data on this tab are saved to the Process Definition table.

When you select a process on the Processes tab, the Process Name and Description default to the header of the Notification Groups tab. When you select a Notification Group (defined in Notification Group Definition table) on the Notification Groups tab, four buttons become available to use in selecting and moving groups between the Available and Selected groups:

·       Add moves the highlighted rows from the Available group to the Selected group.

·       Add All moves all rows from the Available group to the Selected group.

·       Remove moves the highlighted rows from the Selected group to the Available group.

·       Remove All moves all rows from the Selected group to the Available group.

The groups moved to the Selected group box are saved to the Process Notification Member table.
