Notification Method Definition Window

This window defines notification method codes and descriptions that your institution is allowed to use for scheduled processes. Notification codes are used by J1 Desktop to determine how to notify others about the status of scheduled processes.

The window is populated through default data, and you cannot add new rows. The columns on this window are from the Notification Method Definition table.

The following notification codes and methods are available for you to use:

Notification Method Code	Description
APPALERT	Notification through Application using status bar
EXEMAIL	Email notification through alternate contact information entered in the AlternateContactMethod table If the user has access to the Set My Profile Sharing Preferences window, the Notification System will first check for the user's email address entered in this window before checking the AlternateContactMethod table.
EXTERNALEMAIL	Email notification for non-J1 Desktop users
