Current Notifications Window

The Current Notifications window is used to view new and previously viewed notifications created for you by the J1 Desktop system. If a J1 Desktop user is configured to receive application alerts, the user will notice a small icon (image\ebx_960199345.gif) at the bottom right corner of application window. These notifications may require you to perform some action.

Columns

The following columns are populated for each notification:

·       Status - populated with a unviewed () or viewed () icon.

·      Category - displays the category of the event (i.e., Purchasing, Budget, etc.)

·       Subject - displays what the notification is about

·       Date Notified - indicates the date the notification was received by the user (not necessarily when they opened it and read it)

Options

There are three (3) options on this window:

·       Clicking the new notification icon or double-clicking the row opens the Notification window for the selected Notification. If you view a new notification (see Figure 1), the status icon changes to a viewed icon (see Figure 2) when you close the Notification window.

·       The Select All checkbox selects all rows.

·       The Delete button (located in the lower right corner) allows you to delete selected rows. f you want to delete a notification, highlight the row(s) you want to delete and then click the Delete button. The following message appears: "Are you certain you wish to delete the selected notification?" Click Yes to continue the delete process or No to abort the delete process. When you delete a notification, it is not deleted from a table; instead, the Status column of the Notification Attempt History [NOTIFICATION_ATTEMPT_HIST] table is updated to "D" for that recipient and notification.
