This code is a user-defined tabled value that identifies an address associated with an ID Number. Address codes are managed in J1 Web, System Administration on the Data Definitions page.
The address code (examples) can be up to 4 alphanumeric characters and is associated with a description of up to 60 alphanumeric characters By using different codes, more than one address per person or organization can be stored in the Address Master table. You can create your own address codes to fit your organization's needs.
*LHP (Legal Home Permanent) is the address code the system uses as the default address code.
The Collect process (SEVIS) populates this column on the Employers tab of the SEVIS Employers and Sites window if you use the Relationships table (Relationships tab on the Name Entity window) to identify the OPT/CPT. The employers entered on the Employers tab are associated with students/exchange visitors used in SEVIS reporting.
You can store summer addresses for each of your students and use the PSMR code to generate a mailing during the summer for the fall semester.
The value in the Address Code column on the Name and Permanent Address tabs of the Individual Application Detail window defaults from the Value column for default_addr_cde on the Web Configuration window.
If the ID Number of the contact person is stored in the NameMaster table and if the AddressMaster table contains Address Codes with associated phone numbers (and extensions, if applicable) for the ID Number, you can select an Address Code from the Address Code list box to automatically populate the phone number columns. However, if Address Codes are selected but are not associated with phone numbers, the phone number columns cannot be edited. The only way to edit the phone number columns is to edit the appropriate phone number column in the Maintain Address window. Then the phone number columns are automatically updated when you save phone data on the Maintain Address window.
