This window allows you to assign vehicle permits to persons on campus. A Vehicle Registration consists of both a Permit Code and a Permit Number. The Permit Code is predefined, but you can determine the number or J1 Desktop can generate the number. You can enter additional information, such as the driver's license number and state, vehicle license plate and state, make/model/year, vehicle description, and the status of the permit.
Assigning a permit number can be done automatically or manually.
If done automatically, a session and permit type are selected, the issue Next Permit option is chosen, and the next available permit number is used.
The manual method of registering a vehicle consists of entering a valid session and permit type and manually entering the permit number to be issued. J1 checks to see if the permit number is already issued; if so, it retrieves the record for the issued permit and allows editing of the information.
In order to enter data in this window, you must specify a Permit Code in the header.

When you save the information on this window, if the in the Header is greater than the Maximum Allowed value on the Details tab of the Vehicle Permit Definition window, the following message is displayed: "The maximum number of permits for SA_VP_CDE has been reached. Unable to save permit. Increase the value of Maximum Allowed on the Vehicle Permit Master window for the SA_VP_CDE permit." Click OK to return to the Vehicle Registration Details window. |
Information about the permit, the permit holder, and the vehicle are recorded in this window using three tabs:
