Course Components Window

The purpose of this window is to define course components, which are the building blocks of the course code. The course code can be composed of a maximum of 6 course components. Each component may contain up to 5 characters. The length of each component is defined in the Registration Configuration window.

Course components may contain only letters and numbers. All separator characters such as periods, commas, parentheses, dashes, and spaces must be part of the Edit Mask. You may specify that no validation be performed on any part of the course code on the Registration Configuration window. Only components that are selected to be validated must be defined on this window.

Course Schedules Portlet (campus portal (JICS))

In the Course Schedules portlet, the user is able to search for courses by Department and by Course Number Range. For the components that represent Department and Course Number, use the Show on Web checkbox to indicate whether or not that component should display in the appropriate drop-down on the Course Search screen in the Course Schedules portlet.
