The course identifier (Course ID) is composed of as many as six components. The total spaces for all six components combined may not exceed 20 (including separator characters). The combination of components provides a unique distinction for each course section.

Remember to consider the format limitations of the selected grade report and transcript. The printed component length on grade reports and transcripts is limited to 10 characters, including an automatic space between components). This format honors the specified length of each component and does not float horizontally when the actual number of characters varies for course components.
