This checkbox, when selected (default), means that this gift is able to be recorded in Business Office, specifically in General Ledger. When you book the gift group in which the gift resides, transactions are created in General Ledger. The gift category specified on the gift defines the GL account number to which this gift is credited. The gift is always stored in the Development/Alumni module, regardless of this checkbox's selection.
If you clear this checkbox, this gift will not be booked to GL when the gift group is booked nor will the transaction appear on the Transmittal Report by Account Number; however, the amount is stored in the Development/Alumni module.
If the Book? checkbox is selected on the Process Gift Groups window, the gifts in this gift group have been booked to the Business Office General Ledger.
