Customize Button (Report/Query Windows)

This button will be visible on the window only if you have access to the Customize function, i.e., authority to customize reports/queries. See your IT Administrator if you need permission to customize reports/queries using InfoMaker.

If you started from the <Original> report and clicked the Customize button, a dialog box may appear with the following message: "CONFIRM OVERWRITE: Are you sure you want to overwrite the report named <report name> with the original report?" At this point, you can click on the OK button.

The Customize button will allow you to customize an InfoMaker report or query. When this button is pressed, InfoMaker is launched from your application. Changes can be made to the report/query format to reflect your individual needs. When you customize a report/query and return to the window from which you launched InfoMaker, the report/query list is refreshed and the last-used report/query is displayed. If you do not see the name of your customized version for some of the reports, right-click and choose Refresh Report List.

Immediately after you open a report, choose File > Save As and add some type of identifier (for example, your initials) to the end of the report name. This ensures that your version of the report will be run. You can only add to the report name; you cannot replace part of it.

If your initials are XXX, you would save the "d_transcript_new_rpt" as "d_transcript_new_rpt_XXX."

Customize Report Troubleshooting

If you customize a report/query in InfoMaker and add or remove a column in Design mode, make sure the Export/Import Template - XML pane is closed before saving to avoid an extra prompt to Save Template - XML. The easiest way to do this is to go to View/Layouts and choose one of the Jenzabar-provided layouts.
