Building

Each of the buildings for which you want to track information can be identified using a building code. Every building should have a unique code, regardless of where it is physically located. This information is stored in the Building Master table, which is shared by other modules to define residence halls, offices, etc.

Building codes (examples) can be up to 5 alphanumeric characters, and the building description can be up to 30 alphanumeric characters. Building codes are stored on the Building Master table via the Building Definition window.

Additions

It's good practice (and necessary for Oklahoma state reporting) to create a unique row for the original building and for each addition to it.

Then, for each addition, on the Building Details window | State Reporting tab | State Structure ID drop-down list, select the original building. Thus, the original building and each addition have unique building definitions, but they all share the same State Structure ID.
