Review/Add Comments and Attachments Window

This window allows you to add, view, and/or delete comments and attachments made by other persons. You can also view contact profiles (if available) of persons who made comments and/or attached an item. This window opens when you click one of the following icons in another J1 Desktop window:

(add comments or attachments)

(view unread comments or attachments)

(view read comments or attachments)

Depending on your school's configuration settings, other persons may be notified via an e-mail message or an application alert that you have made comments or attached an item.

Feedback

This drop-down column displays the name of the item that is currently being viewed or to which you want to add feedback. The list in this column defaults from the window where you requested to add/view Feedback by clicking one of the icons.

When you choose an item, the list of Feedback attached to that item is displayed.

Feedback List

When you choose an item in the Feedback drop-down list, each piece of Feedback for this item is displayed in a text bubble. If available, a picture of the person who left the Feedback item is also displayed. If no picture is available, the is displayed. Clicking on either the picture or the icon displays the person's contact profile.

Each Feedback bubble may display the following:

·       The name of the person who attached the feedback item and the date the feedback was left, which is displayed as an e-mail address link if available. Click the link to open the Send Email window.

·       Comment text. The icon (if available) allows you to remove your comment. Your comment can only be removed if it has not been viewed by another person.

·       Hyperlinked name of the attachment. Click the link to open the attachment. The icon (if available) allows you to remove a file you attached. Your file can only be removed if it has not been viewed by another person.

Adding Comments

Comments are stored in the COMMENT table.

The comment text box allows you to enter a comment up to 1,000 characters. As you type your comment, the number of characters remaining for you to enter displays at the bottom of the text box (Still Available to Comment).

Adding Attachments

Attachments are stored in the ATTACHMENT table.

The attachments text box allows you to display the navigation path to an attached file. Click on the icon to navigate to the file to be attached.

Buttons

The Add button places the attachment and comments into the Feedback list.

The Close button closes the window and does not save any comments or attachments.

The icon prints the Feedback thread.
