Rights Tab (Notepad Users Window)

A user must exist on the Users tab and have values stored on the Rights tab in order to access the Notepad options.

When this tab is accessed from the Daily Procedure window, the Module/Access Code Stamp column will not appear in the header of the tab. Also, when the OK button is clicked on this tab, it returns the selected rows to the Daily Procedure window instead of saving the changes to the Notepad Users window.

This tab allows the system administrator to set up access rights for the users defined on the Users tab. You must highlight a row on the Users tab and then click on the Rights tab. At the top of the Rights tab, user information [including User Name, User ID Number, User Title, and name (first, middle, last)] is displayed.

For each user, one Module/Access Code is chosen on this tab for stamping on any Notepad rows (from the Items table) created by that user. Select from the drop-down data window of the Module/Access Code Stamp column.

The system administrator can add modules to the Module/Access Code Stamp column by right-clicking in the column and choosing Maintenance Screen.  For example, if a user works in the Admissions office, it is likely that AD (Admissions) would be the Module/Access Code stamped on the Notepad rows created by that user.

The Security radio buttons determine the table from which to show the security.

·       If you click the Modules radio button and then click the Change button, the Select Modules To Secure window opens and allows you to select or delete modules from the MODULES table to which the user has access. For each user, multiple modules can be chosen. Click OK to save and update the NOTE_PAD_USER_ACS table for the User ID displayed in the header.

·       If you click the Actions radio button and then click the Change button, the Select Actions to Secure window opens and allows you to select or remove actions from the ACTION table to which the user has access. For each user, multiple Action codes can be chosen to control which rows from the Notepad (ITEMS table) that user sees when they open the Notepad and To Do List windows. This also controls which Notepad rows the user can update while using the Daily Procedures window. Click OK to save and update the EX_NOTE_PAD_USER_ACS_ACTION table for the User ID displayed in the header.

·       If you click the Action Lists radio button and then click the Change button, the Select Action Lists to Secure window opens and allows you to select or remove action lists from the ACTION_LIST_DEF table to which the user has access. For each user, multiple Action List codes can be chosen to control which rows from the Notepad (ITEMS table) that user sees when they open the Notepad and To Do List windows. This also controls which Notepad rows the user can update while using the Daily Procedures window. Click OK to save and update the EX_NOTE_PAD_USER_ACS_ACTLST table for the User ID displayed in the header.
