Students are ranked (examples) according to their GPA during the Class Rank Update process. The Class Rank and High Range are used to identify a person's rank and upper range for persons having the same GPA when the system calculates a student's class rank.
This update process is performed using year/term selection criteria that determine the rows from the Student Term Summary by Division table that will be selected for the update. Therefore, the Class Rank columns on the Student Term Summary by Division table are updated by the Class Rank Update process; however, the Class Rank columns on the Degree History table are not updated by this process.
