For GRS reporting, this column is used to populate the GRS Beginning Program column (on the Student Master Extension window) if the Major 1 column is not populated. If the Major 1 and Certification columns are not populated (empty), the GRS Beginning Program column is NULL.

Certification codes describe special certifications that students or faculty have attained or are seeking to attain through the completion of a course of study and/or the passing of a qualifying examination. When defining certification codes, you should not only include certifications that are offered at your organization but also certifications that are offered at other organizations since you may have candidates who have attained certifications at previous organizations. Certification codes do not define degrees. These codes are used in the Admissions and Registration modules.

A certification code (examples) is defined via the Certification Definition window and consists of two alphanumeric characters is used to describe special certification that students or faculty have attained or are seeking to attain.

If you want a certification code to display in the Certification drop-down list on the Majors/Certifications tab of the Program Definition window, you must select the Internal checkbox for that certification on the Certification Definition window.
