This window (ORG_MASTER_ORG_CDE table) allows you to define an association using an Organization ID Number, an Organization Code Type, and an Organization Code. This association allows you to identify and track multiple codes used for reporting (i.e., FICE, CEEB, IPEDS, etc.) for each organization. These codes can be referenced by the Organization Code Type.
|
J1 Desktop organization code can be up to 6 characters. For organizations requiring longer codes, use this window to create a code of up to 15 characters. |
For every organization that may be referenced as a high school, transfer school, transcript destination school, and/or transcript source school (i.e., your organization), define a row in this window with an Organization ID Number, the Organization Code Type (choose from the drop-down list), and the Organization Code for that type.
If you highlight an Organization Master row and open this window from a right-click or Options menu, the Organization ID Number and the Organization Code defaults from the highlighted row and displays in the header.
Organizations are referred to in electronic transcripts by various types of organization codes. Organizations are set up in the Organization Master window, and each can be assigned an Organization Code. This code is then used throughout the J1 Desktop software to refer to this organization. However, because other organization codes may be needed for reporting purposes, including electronic transcripts, it is possible to define multiple Organization Codes together with Organization Code Types. These codes, including the default code used in Organization Master, can then be referenced by the Organization Code Type.
See PESC Organization Code Type for further information on PESC Organization Code Type, including the list of organization code types that are delivered as Default Data. If you will be sending both XML and EDI transcripts, then choose organization type codes from TABLE_VALUE that have values in both TBL_VALUE_ALT1 (used for the XML) and TBL_VALUE_ALT2 (used for the EDI).
