Edit Mask

Once you have defined the components for your organization, you need to decide how the entire course number should appear on reports and windows. Each report allocates 30 characters for the course number and the Registration Configuration window allows you to create an Edit Mask that describes how these characters should be used.

The Edit Mask column is 30 characters long. Each @ symbol represents where part of the course code will display and/or print. Each hyphen, diagonal, or period represents a separator character that will print between course components. The component lengths determine the number of @ symbols between separator characters. When you are defining your edit mask, test the validity and usability of the edit mask by creating a new section in the Courses window.

The @ symbol is the only character that can be used in defining the edit mask.
