Higher institutions of education are required to disclose the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) along with the retail price of required, recommended, and supplemental textbooks and materials for a course.
· If the ISBN is not available, then you should disclose the author, title, publisher, and copyright date.
· If you determine that the disclosure of this information is not practical for a textbook or supplemental material, then you should enter the text "To Be Determined" in lieu of the required information.
The ISBN is used for books in a series and with annuals or biennials. When this is the case, the ISBN identifies the individual book in a series or a specific year for an annual or biennial. The ISBN should be printed on the Copyright page.
The ISBN-10 consists of 10 characters (e.g., hyphens, dashes, etc.) and, when printed, is preceded by the letters "ISBN." It is divided into 4 parts separated by a hyphen.
The ISBN-13 consists of 13 characters (e.g., hyphens, dashes, etc.) and, when printed, is preceded by the numbers "978". It is divided into 5 parts separated by a hyphen.
