Use this window to define and maintain degrees.
Degree Honors indicates special honors or recognition earned by the student in completing this degree. Majors, minors, concentrations, and certifications can be considered degree types.
The Degree History table stores one record for each degree that a person has completed or is pursuing. In order to track both undergraduate and graduate degrees, faculty members usually have several Degree History rows. The Degree History table is significant because it stores majors, minors, concentrations, certifications, and honors. Since a student may have several Degree History records, the system needs a way to know which record contains the student's current degree (and the current majors, minors, etc.). Current students have at least one Degree History row that is in progress.
The Student Master table contains a Degree History Sequence # column that indicates the current Degree History record for which the Current Degree checkbox is selected. This Sequence # is set when you add or change a person's degree history. When reports are created, you can link the Degree History table to the Student Master table by using the Name ID and the Sequence #. The report will use degree information from the current Degree History record.
If it is possible for the student to have multiple Degree History records where the Active checkbox is selected, then reports may use the Degree History table selecting active rows.
Oklahoma schools must assign enrollment levels to each degree code to meet state reporting requirements. Use of enrollment levels is optional for other schools.
