This is one of the Default Merge Method radio buttons on the Merge Document Definition window. This option is useful, for example, if you are using the email merge features in Microsoft Word and only wanted J1 Desktop to load the data source file and connect it to the Microsoft Word document but not complete the merge.
When you select the Merge Manually radio button, the merge process opens the Microsoft Word mail merge document and connects to the datasource file generated by the Infomaker query but does not complete the merge.
Once the document is open, you need only to perform any additional edits and click the Finish and Merge button on the ribbon within Microsoft Word.

This option is only available for the Document Types that use MS Word for the merge process. It is not available for the INFOMAKER_RPT and EMAIL document types. |
