Quick Candidate Entry Window

You cannot automatically assign a counselor on this window because not all of the data necessary for the territory evaluation is available on this window.

The Quick Candidate Entry window allows you to retrieve and quickly enter basic Candidate information rather than having to use various tabs on the Maintain Candidacy window. You can enter a new candidate, and the information will be stored on the appropriate tables. You can enter an existing ID Number to retrieve information that can then be edited.

Messages

If a change is made to any of the Name LFM columns for an individual, the following message is displayed: "You are about to update the Name field(s) of an existing record. Do you wish to save the changes for ID Number [xxx]? Click OK to save the changes, or Cancel to return to the record without saving changes. Use a right mouse click to access the 'Add Row' option to create a new ID."

·       If you click OK, the changes are saved to the currently selected NameMaster row.

·       If you click Cancel, the Quick Candidate Entry window is displayed and no table changes are saved. This prompt helps to ensure that you intended to make a change to the currently displayed ID Number rather than create a new ID Number.

If a change is made to the Year, Term, Program, Division, or Location of an existing row, the following message is displayed: "A change to the <column name> column will cause this record to be saved. Continue?"

·       If you click No, the column retains the original value.

·       If you click Yes, the change is saved in the same manner as on the Candidacy tab of the Maintain Candidacy window.

If a new stage is selected from the Stage drop-down list for any Candidacy row, the following message is displayed: "The stage change process can include steps to validate requirements, check acceptance levels, add action lists, and move candidates to another stage if requirements are met depending on how the stage if defined. Do you wish to proceed to the stage change process for the <> stage?"

·       If you click Yes, the change is saved and the stage change process continues in the same manner as on the Candidacy tab of the Maintain Candidacy window.

·       If you click No, the change is saved but the stage change process is skipped.

·       If you click Cancel, the change is saved but the stage is reverted to its original value.

When a Candidacy row is marked as the 'Current Candidacy' either by the creation of a new Candidacy row or by your changing the Current column in a Candidacy row to Yes, the information from the new Current Candidacy is copied to the Candidate table when you save the Candidacy information. Also, all other Candidacy rows are set to 'No' for the Current Candidacy column.
