A user must exist on the Users tab and have values stored on the Rights tab in order to access the Notepad options.
The purpose of this window is to allow the system administrator to define users for the Notepad system and to assign access rights to those users.
A user's access to a particular module can be defined by associating the User ID with the module code.
Every user of the Notepad must exist on the Notepad User table in order to access any of the functions that are available within Notepad. If access is granted to the functions, there is a security check that needs to happen before displaying each table row for an item. The Items row has a module code, and each user has access to that module code on their Notepad User row.
Notepad Information displayed on reports in any of the modules is dependent on rights set in this window. If you do not have rights to modules, actions, and/or action lists (set on the Rights tab), those items will be appropriately filtered from the report.
When selecting a user on the Users tab, the User ID must have an associated ID Number. If necessary, go to the Users window to set the ID Number before proceeding.
