Merge To File Radio Button

This is one of the Default Merge Method radio buttons on the Merge Document Definition window. It is useful for creating letters to print at a later time.

Selecting the Merge To File radio button causes the merge process to do the following:

·       Opens the word processor

·       Merges the document and data

·       Saves the merged document to a file specified in the Merge To column with a unique system-generated name.
The system-generated name will contain the Letter Code, Date, and Time.

·       Closes the word processor

 

If you are merging the PRES letter code on June 28, 200X, at 10:50:12 a.m., the document will be named PRES200X0628105012.doc.

 

This setting is not available for the EMAIL document type.
