Admissions: The attribute codes can be attached to a particular candidate to further define important characteristics that may be helpful in determining the status of a candidate. The attribute codes can also be used to target specific candidates that your organization may be trying to recruit. Also, the Attribute Definition table provides an excellent location to set up codes for various organization scholarships (example) that the Admissions Office wants to track. |
Development and Admissions Offices and Continuing Education Departments often want to track attributes about individuals. The attribute code is used to track these attributes.
The attribute code defines an individual's interest, extracurricular activities, sports participation, honors/awards, and/or association with an organization or group. Attribute codes can either define a name entity's attributes at a previous or current location or attributes the individual would like to pursue.
The attribute code can be up to 5 alphanumeric characters and is associated with a text description of up to 25 alphanumeric characters. The attribute codes are defined in the Attribute Definition window and are used to identify an attribute to be linked to ID Numbers.

Attribute security is defined on the Attribute User Access window.
|
If you want all users to be able to use all attributes and do not want to assign permissions, you should not define attribute types. In other words, if you define attribute types and assign those to attributes, users must be given permission to use them via the Attribute User Access window. |
