The Degree Lock flag indicates whether a Degree row can be edited. When a student has graduated from a Degree program, we recommend that you store a PDF copy of the student’s transcript and then lock the Degree row.
· If the value is L (Locked), the column itself is not editable and this Degree row is locked in the Degree History table and is not editable. This inability to edit also includes rows in the Graduation Stage table (Graduation Stage sub-tab) that are bound to this degree. This lock can be removed by users who belong to the Remove Degree History Lock Flag security group.
· If the value is N (None), it is editable by users who belong to the Update or Remove Degree History Lock Flag security groups.
· If the value is W (Warning), the following message is displayed when a user makes the first change to that record: "The selected record has the Do Not Change warning flag applied and should not be changed. Do you wish to continue with the change?"
§ Clicking the No button aborts the process.
§ Clicking the Yes button allows the user to proceed with the changes. However, when saving the changes, the following message is displayed: "This record has the Do Not Change warning flag applied and should not be modified. Do you wish to save the changes?" Clicking the Yes button saves the changes, and clicking the No button aborts the process.
