Academic Standing Definition Window

This window allows you to add, view, modify, and delete Academic Standing codes. The academic standing of a student is identified by codes that provide values for two major areas:

·       Academic Honors (for example, Dean's List, President's List)
Term Honors code (formerly Honors code)

·       Academic Standing (for example, Good Standing, Probation, Suspension)
Term Academic Standing code (formerly Probation code)

In this window, define the codes you wish to represent both Term Honors and Term Academic Standing. Then select the appropriate Category for each code. When you run the Academic Standing Update process for a given year and term, the Student Master table is updated when you select the Student Master checkbox.

Examples of Academic Standing Codes

The Category defined allows J1 to display the appropriate values in the Term Honors and Term Academic Standing drop-down lists. The Category is also used in EXi Advising to provide information to the advisor about the student’s academic standing for the term.

Before defining your academic standing codes, look at your honors and probation policies in your catalog. List each of the possible levels of achievement that your institution tracks.
