Drop/Add and Hours Boundaries Examples

Given the hours boundary definition below (Hours Boundary Code A), a student who was originally taking 11.00 credit hours and is now taking 15.00 credit hours will appear on the Drop/Add Report. This is because they were in Hours Category 4 (between 9.00 and 11.99 hours) and are now in Hours Category 5 (between 12.00 and 16.99 hours).

If a student previously took 12.00 hours and is now taking 16.00 hours, they would not appear on the report because they were, and still are, in Hours Category 5 (between 12.00 and 16.99 hours).

If your organization has another set of hours boundaries defined (Hours Boundary Code B), the results may be different for the same students. For example, using the set below, neither of the students (the one increasing from 11 to 15 hours nor the one going from 12 to 16) would appear on the report since they did not cross any boundary. The hours boundary definition that is used for the run is specified on the prompt window when you print the Drop/Add Report.
