Giving Club Levels Example 3

The example does not exactly match the windows in the system. For the purpose of illustration, we included or omitted some information. The club's Level at Year Begin and ...End are shown here for illustration only. J1 stores only the current level and the date it was attained.

This example details an annual club that has certain levels that are reset to zero and other levels at the higher end of giving that are not re-set to zero. This club shows both annual and lifetime functionality even though it is an Annual club type and is for the organization that has one or more levels where, once attained, donors remain in that club level for the remainder of their life. This is achieved by using combinations of selecting and clearing the Regress and Cumulate checkboxes at different levels.

Below is an example of several levels for the General Club (GEN):

Below is a narrative explaining how the donor moved through these levels:

2005:

They begin the year at no level but attain the Century level because they gave $100.

2006:

They begin the year at no level because the Regress Level Each Year checkbox is selected for the Century Club level. They attain the Associates level because they gave $300.

2007:

They begin the year at no level because the Regress Level Each Year checkbox is selected for the Associates Club level. They attain the Leaders Club because they gave $700. They do not attain the President's Club level because it is not based on cumulative amount given (the Cumulate Level Each Year checkbox is not selected for the President's Club level); therefore, the YTD Amount is used to categorize them.

2008:

They begin the year at no level because the Regress Level Each Year checkbox is selected for the Leaders Club level. They attain the President's Club because they gave $1,000 in that year.

2009:

They begin the year at the President's Club level since the Regress Level Each Year checkbox is not selected for the President's Club level, which they attained in the previous year. They remain in the President's Club level again. They gave $3,500 during the year, which was not enough to get to the next level because the Cumulate Level Each Year checkbox is not selected for the Trustee Club level.

2010:

They begin the year at the President's Club level since the Regress Level Each Year checkbox is not selected for the President's Club level, which they attained in the previous year. They attain the Founders Club level because they gave $5,000 that year putting their cumulative above the required $10,000 (the Founders Club has the Cumulate Level Each Year checkbox selected). If they gave the $5,000 as two gifts of $2,500, for example, then they would also have progressed through the Trustee Club level at some point in the year. However, at year's end, they reach the Founders Club level. They will always remain at the Founders Club level from this point on since they have given the required cumulative amount.
