Rigorous High School Eligibility

The Academic Competitiveness Grant was created with the passage of the Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005 (HERA). This grant was created to encourage students to study specific science, math, or language subjects and is awarded to first- or second-year students who, among other qualifying criteria, must have completed a rigorous secondary school program.

The Rigorous High School Eligibility column allows you to select the type of Rigorous High School Eligibility that a student has met:

·       00 - Not Eligible (You can use this option to indicate that a student has already been evaluated and found to be not eligible.)

·       01 - High School Program

·       02 - AP/IB Courses

·       03 - Coursework

These available options match the options available in PowerFAIDS, and this information may be transferred to PowerFAIDS via the Create Student Update for Financial Aid window in the Financial Aid Manager module for evaluation of grant eligibility.

If you select the 01-High School Program option, the Rigorous High School Program Code column will be enabled and you must select an option from the drop-down list.
