Concentration

A concentration describes a program, concentration, or area of study that a candidate either has pursued in the past or will pursue at your organization. As many as three concentration codes can be defined for each candidacy. You must decide whether this code represents a concentration at a previous organization or whether you want to use this code for concentrations at your organization.

A concentration code (examples) is defined via the Concentration Definition window and consists of up to five characters and is used to identify special areas of concentration within a degree plan. Concentration codes are also useful to gather statistics.

Your Registrar's Office may define only one education program. However, the Admissions Office may want to track statistics on candidates who are applying in early education, secondary education, and elementary education. You can define concentration codes to represent areas of concentration that may not be majors at your organization.
